Child plays in soft play

Welcome to The Grove Montessori

The Grove Montessori, opened in 2020, and is located just off the Wanstead High Street and is adjacent to Wanstead United Reformed Church.

The nursery is renovated and refurbished with high end facilities including 4 very large and spacious rooms. It contains a modern sensory play area. Great attention to detail as been placed where all materials used are purpose built to support all aspects of child development.

Independency

The children become independent and do tasks for themselves, by giving children the opportunities to participate in their own learning from moving around freely, dressing themselves, washing their own hands, setting the tables and serving themselves at mealtimes.

Our daily routine consists of for all children to experience fresh air using the nature garden space and going on outings in the local community.

We are very impressed with the support Treehouse has given to our daughter. Further, we have seen huge progression in her development, which has come from the time effort of her key workers with support from us as parents. We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and support offered by the nursery and would highly recommend Treehouse nursery schools to our friends and family.

Leaving a 5 month old baby is hard however Treehouse were with me every step of the way. Settling in was smooth and gradual and they worked in the interest of my son who is now a happy member of the Treehouse family.

Curriculum

Practical life exercises

This develops control and co-ordination of movement and encourages fine manipulative skills, hand-eye-coordination, and independence. Practical life activities are real life objects that the children see daily.

Sensorial exercises

This enhances their senses, laying the foundation for early reading, writing and mathematical skills. Sensorial activities encourage the child to explore using their senses, colours, shapes, dimensions, smells, sounds, and tastes are all introduced within a wide range of activities.

Language

This encourages pre-reading, writing, and listening skills. Language activities are developed through hands on activities. Letter activities are introduced in a physical way through sandpaper letters, this allows the children to feel each letter shape and feel confident in letter formation.

Maths

This develops an understanding of the concept of numbers. Maths activities are also very hands on giving the children concrete experiences of number formation, ordering, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Mathematics begins with number rods to introduce your child to counting in a concrete form before moving on.

Cultural

This develops an awareness of the multi-cultural world in which we live. It is divided into geography, botany, biology, history, and science. Cultural activities include divided into geography, botany, biology, history, and science. Cultural activities include looking at different landmarks, and past and presents events.

I found the settling experience a support tool for both Yana & I. It definitely acts as a great reassurance to Yana that I would be returning when I left her. The gradual build-up of the time spent each day was a positive experience. There is a clear understanding that each child is an individual with their own needs & will settle within their own time within the 2 weeks period. It was evident that the staff are well experienced and are just as keen to have Yana settle into nursery in a positive way, as I was. I was able to speak to staff about concerns I had, any questions I had were answered or referred to the manager. Yana’s key person, Usha, has built a good positive bond with her which helped settle her quickly. Sending Yana a video of Usha prior to starting her settling experience is an excellent way to build familiarity. I’m keen on the fact that there are small numbers in the rooms which translates into more close attention for Yana’s needs & individualised approach. I look forward to Yana’s development at the Grove & the review meetings to discuss her progress.

Excellent, All the staff members are caring and diligent, Zanya was made to feel welcome and supported throughout the process. Usha, Patryk and Anjum all provided detailed feedback in the period and Usha was a dedicated and reassuring keyworker. Love the fact that everyone knows Zanya personally and that all the workers focussed on providing a safe and nurturing environment. When Zayna had an accident, it was communicated and managed well, and we had a detailed follow up. Very impressed by the attention given to Zayna’s development delays and plan proposed to address it

We were pleasantly surprised by the experience, the timing and the flexibility made it non stressful. The welcome video by Usha for Eliana was very important and we felt it made it a positive experience as we could help familiarise Eliana with her key worker in advance. The update of photos throughout the day was important as it allowed us to feel at ease knowing she was in good hands. This is particularly important to maintain as much as possible as it helps parents have a good idea about their child’s day life. Overall all staff and admin staff have been very helpful and really shows the nursery in a good light.

Excellent – Grayson had the opportunity to explore the rooms and the garden with me and then had the confidence to be with Usha by himself. He talks about Usha, Pat and his new friends at home – he has settled brilliantly and will thrive going forward.

It couldn’t have been better. Marie and Vivienne were really accommodating to our schedule and took great care to get to know Allegra and her personality. Allegra settled very quickly and is clearly enjoying her time in the Grove.

Very good, we were given plenty of time to settle Henry in. I was asked lots of question about Henry and Vivienne would always set-up activities I would mention he enjoyed. Henry instantly made a connection with Vivienne which was lovely. She made every effort to make him feel welcome and comfortable. It was also nice to be able to spend time with the other staff.

The difference in William has been incredible. He loved the Grove so much; he asks to see Usha, his caregiver, every day! He clearly enjoys the activities on offer and the facilities available to him. He has begun to use a proper cup at home and uses his cutlery as a preference over the use of his hands. We are very pleased with how much William is enjoying his time here. We have found all the staff very approachable, helpful and friendly without exception. Everyone’s enthusiasm carries through & their passion for what they do is very clear.

We were very pleased with the settling process. Great attention to detail in the set-up. Usha had clearly taken time to read ‘get to know you’ notes and think of activities based on those. Opportunity to have 1-1 time was fantastic and I am sure will have contributed to Lola settling so quickly. Appreciated the flexibility in the schedule as we saw how well Lola was doing.

We’ve enjoyed the settling in period. Juniper has left the Nursery saying ‘I love School’. She has also been singing nursery rhymes this past week, talking more and using the potty every day at home. She’s nearly potty trained after her first two weeks of settling in time at the nursery. The staff have been very supportive and reassuring during the settling in phase, keeping us informed throughout her settling process through their app with photos and videos of her. We are very happy with the settling in process.
